Name:

Nora Salem

Business:

Role in the project:

Store Designer

Short bio:

Hi hello! I'm Nora, an Egyptian-Palestinian artist with creative ADHD...and actual ADHD. Some folks may remember me from BUD + BLOOM, my florally focused studio centered around my reverence for cannabis. Otherwise known as the moody corner in Kingsway Mall that featured everything from witchy wares and workshops to art exhibits and music video shoots.

Since then, I've been freelancing my multifaceted skillset, collaborating on impactful projects, and accepting select commissions in space design, installations, and intimate events.

I am thrilled to be returning to Kingsway as part of this epic and equally eclectic project. I can't wait to bring another unique retail experience to life in honour of a fellow fearless woman's legacy!

What first drew you into Carol's Closet?

Carol's generous heart and deep love of cats. I have 6 of them myself. Real recognizes real.

Favorite thrifted/vintage find ever:

It's a tie, I once found a beautiful floral scarf and didn't realize it was a vintage Oscar de la Renta until I got home. I nearly fell over. Another time I swooned hard over a pair of black and gold bejewelled flats. One is a staple in my closet, the other is a lampshade cover because it brings me so much joy seeing it every day.

One item from Carol's Closet that feels most like you:

An oversized black and gold knit cardigan that is as luxurious as it is cozy. I immediately spotted it in a pile of clothing when I first saw her collection. It was undoubtedly love at first sight!

One word for Carol's Closet:

Iconic
